What This Integration Enables

The YOURLS connector gives agents a focused set of actions against a self-hosted instance. Agents shorten a long URL, optionally with a custom keyword and title, and expand a short URL back to its destination from either the full short URL or just the keyword. When a URL was already shortened, YOURLS returns the existing short link rather than creating a duplicate, and the connector surfaces that existing link. Agents read click statistics for a single short URL, pull a ranked list of links filtered by most clicked, least clicked, random, or most recent, and read global totals for the whole instance. The connector supplies the shorten, expand, and stats actions; the surrounding flow decides which branded link ships and which report gets sent.

Without FlowRunner

Links shortened one by one Someone opens the YOURLS admin to shorten each link before publishing
Duplicates created accidentally The same URL gets shortened twice under different keywords
Click data pulled by hand Per-link and instance totals get copied out of the admin panel

With FlowRunner

Links shortened in the flow The agent creates a branded short link automatically for each destination
Duplicates reused YOURLS returns the existing short link, and the agent surfaces it instead of failing
Click data assembled on demand URL stats and instance totals feed dashboards directly

Use Case Scenarios

Branded Campaign Links

When a campaign link is ready, the agent calls Shorten URL to create a short link on your own domain, optionally with a readable custom keyword. It confirms the link resolves and, if the URL was already shortened, surfaces the existing short link rather than making a duplicate. The branded link is assembled in the flow and posted for distribution.

Performance Reporting

On a schedule, the agent calls Get Stats to fetch the top-clicked links and Get Database Stats for instance-wide totals, then appends the numbers to a performance-tracking view. The report shows which links drive traffic without anyone opening the admin panel.

Inbound Link Resolution

When a short URL arrives from an inbound source, the agent calls Expand Short URL to resolve it back to its destination for validation or logging. The resolution confirms where a link actually points before the workflow acts on it.

Human-in-Loop Highlight

Shortening a link inside a workflow is routine. Putting a branded link on public material is not, because a wrong destination on a campaign asset published under your own domain reflects on you and cannot be quietly recalled. This is [human-in-the-loop](/concepts/human-in-the-loop/) at the boundary between generating a link and publishing it: before a branded link ships on public material, the agent pauses, assembles the short link and its destination and title, and routes to a person through their preferred channel. The message is specific: "This creates sho.rt/spring on your domain pointing to the new landing page, headed for the campaign email. Approve it, or send it back?" The agent handles the shortening and the stats; a person owns the branded link the outside world sees.
