GrowSurf
Loyalty & ReferralRun referral and affiliate programs with GrowSurf, adding participants and crediting referrals. Agents award credit off verified conversions rather than a self-reported claim.
What This Integration Enables
GrowSurf is a referral engine built to be driven by an API, which is exactly why it ends up in the hands of teams whose referral program lives inside the product rather than on a landing page. Participants are added at signup, share URLs come back in the response, referrals are credited when your own system says the referred user qualified, and affiliate commission is computed from transactions you record. Nothing about that model works if a human has to click it. All of it works if an agent is wired into the same events your billing system already emits.
The FlowRunner connectors cover both halves of GrowSurf: the referral side (add participants, credit referrals, read the leaderboard, fulfil rewards) and the affiliate side (record and refund transactions, list commissions, approve them, reconcile payouts). Two details matter more than the operation list. GrowSurf returns a fraud risk level on every participant, and commissions sit pending until something approves them. Put an agent between those two facts and you get a program that pays fast on clean referrals and stops on the ones worth a second look. That is the human-in-the-loop shape this connector is built for.

Use Case Scenarios
Commission approval driven by verified revenue
A referred customer pays. A Stripe event reaches the agent, which calls Record Transaction against the referring affiliate with your own transaction ID attached so a retry cannot double-credit the same sale. The commission enters the pending list. The agent then calls Get Participant, reads the fraud risk level and referral count GrowSurf computed, and checks how much of your refund window has elapsed. Low risk and past the window: it calls Approve Commission and the affiliate gets paid on schedule. Anything else waits for a person. When the customer's payment is later returned, a second flow calls Refund Transaction so the commission is adjusted rather than quietly left standing.
Referral credit at the qualifying moment, not the signup moment
Crediting a referral the second someone signs up rewards traffic, not customers. Instead, the agent calls Add Participant when a user signs up, attributes them to whoever referred them, and stores your internal account ID in the metadata. Nothing is credited yet. Later, when your product confirms the referred user finished onboarding or made a first purchase, the agent calls Trigger Referral to credit the referrer. The share URL was live from minute one. The credit arrives only when the referral turned into something real.
The weekly leaderboard your growth team actually reads
On Program Event fires for New Participant Added and the agent posts a short note into Slack so the growth team sees the program moving in real time. Once a week a scheduled flow calls Get Leaderboard ranked by referrals or by commissions, writes the top referrers into Google Sheets, and pairs each name with what List Participant Rewards says is still unfulfilled. The team picks giveaway winners from a ranked list that was assembled from the live program rather than from last month's export.
Human-in-Loop Highlight
Approve Commission is the point of no return on this connector: it moves a pending commission into payable, and a payable commission becomes money leaving your account through a payout you did not personally look at. GrowSurf hands the agent the one piece of evidence that makes the decision tractable, a fraud risk level computed per participant, and an agent that ignores it is worse than no automation at all because it launders a risk score into an approval. So the agent brings the score with it. It posts into the growth channel: "Commission of the recorded transaction value is pending for participant [email protected]. GrowSurf rates their fraud risk high. Nine referrals in the last four days, all from addresses on the same domain. Approve, or hold pending review?" The growth lead answers in the channel. Approve Commission runs on a decision, not on a timer. Every clean commission still clears without anyone touching it, which is the trade this platform exists to make.
Agent Capabilities
18 actionsPrograms
3- List Programs List every referral and affiliate program on the GrowSurf team with participant, referral and impression counts plus currency and status. Used to resolve the program ID nearly every other action requires.
- Get Program Retrieve a single program by ID, including its reward configuration, counts and currency. Used to inspect how a program is set up before adding participants or recording transactions.
- Get Program Analytics Retrieve aggregate performance analytics for a program. Used to report on how the program is doing without pulling every participant record.
Participants
5- List Participants List the participants enrolled in a program, returning each person's referral count, rank, share URL and fraud risk level. Cursor-paginated. Used for roster syncs and segment exports.
- Get Participant Retrieve a participant by ID or email, returning referral counts, rank, share URL, rewards and fraud risk. Used to look up someone's referral progress before awarding or approving anything.
- Add Participant Add a participant to a program and return their unique share URL, optionally attributing them to their referrer and attaching metadata from your own system. Used at signup.
- Update Participant Update a participant's name, PayPal payout email, notes or metadata. Only the fields supplied are changed.
- Remove Participant Remove a participant from a program, revoking their share URL and referral history. This cannot be undone. Used to honour an erasure request or clear test entries.
Referrals and Rewards
5- Trigger Referral Credit a referral to a participant. Used when your own system confirms a referred signup has qualified, for example after onboarding completes or a first purchase clears.
- Get Leaderboard Retrieve a program's leaderboard, ranked all time, by month, or by impressions, commissions, revenue, referrals or leads. Used to display top referrers or pick giveaway winners.
- List Referrals List the referrals recorded in a program with who was referred, by whom, and the current credit status, optionally filtered by status, email or name. Used to audit referral activity.
- List Participant Rewards List the rewards a participant has earned and whether each is pending or fulfilled. Used to check what someone is owed before fulfilling.
- Fulfill Reward Mark an earned reward as fulfilled. Used after the gift card is sent or the account credit is applied.
Affiliate Transactions and Payouts
5- Record Transaction Record a revenue transaction against a participant in an affiliate program so commission is calculated. Used whenever a referred customer purchases or renews.
- Refund Transaction Reverse a recorded affiliate transaction as a refund or a chargeback so the commission is adjusted. Used when a referred customer's payment is returned.
- List Commissions List commissions earned in an affiliate program, optionally filtered by status so you can pull only what is pending approval or already paid. Cursor-paginated.
- Approve Commission Approve a pending affiliate commission so it becomes payable. Used after your review period confirms the underlying sale is genuine and will not be refunded.
- List Payouts List affiliate payouts for a program, optionally filtered by status to see what is upcoming, queued, issued or failed. Used to reconcile affiliate payments.
Triggers
1 triggersEvent Triggers
1- On Program Event Fires when a chosen event happens in a GrowSurf program, such as a new participant joining, someone reaching a reward goal, a participant's fraud status changing, or a new affiliate commission being added. GrowSurf registers a webhook on the program and the flow runs when the event arrives. Commission and payout events apply to affiliate programs only. Used to react the moment the program moves rather than polling for changes.
